"It is not important what you look at, but what you see"
- Henry David Thoreau
Born on St. Stephen's Day 1951 in the Schlossspital in Thun, I was fascinated from early age by the colours of these snow-cloaked massifs, pinnacles and crags that frame this beautiful lakeside town.
The Stockhorn (located in the Bernese Alps, Switzerland) , one of the distinctive features of this mountain range, particularly impressed me, I still see it today from the terrace of my apartment in Bern, its changing colours and shades - sometimes clearly and sometimes blurred in the haze. The variety of colours that you see and almost feel at sunrise or sunset sparked and awakened this desire for painting in me early on.
Today, even after longer "creative breaks", I am still enthusiastic about painting and happy and proud that I can live out this passion to the fullest. In the meantime, many "works" have accumulated in my studio in Bernapark in Stettlen.
Take your time and have a look...
